Nimrod cruise up the Queensland Coast.

Saturday 1st May.

Our friends Tiff and Dawne kindly drove us down to Southport Yacht Club, and we were on our way by 8 am, to catch the tide and get through the shallows of Canaipa Passage.

George tidied all the provisions away, while I motored up through the Broadwater. We made good progress, and the wind filled in after lunch.

George finally got to relax after all the effort to achieve escape velocity.

We popped the kite up and sailed briskly across Moreton Bay to Bongaree, the southern end of the Pumicestone Passage between Bribie Island and the mainland. It is near the Glasshouse Mountains.

A lovely sunset and peaceful meal at anchor.

  1. Just a quick reply to let you know the blog looks great, as do the photos - hope you got all the mess sorted from the previous weekend without too much trouble :)

  2. Hi from Grass Valley California. As you start your adventure we start our road trip. Saw another Seawind 1000 the other day while sailing on San Francisco Bay - didn't know there were any over here. Nice work on the blog, will keep an eye on it. Steve & Sheila

  3. Hi Dave and George

Great idea doing a blog. Nice to see you are underway. I will follow your adventure with the extra pleasure of having been aboard for part of the NSW cruise.
